Welcome to Bling.
Bling is a university final project (2018-2019) exploring how digital products can encourage meaningful offline creativity while preserving the sense of connection Gen Z values online. Designed for a digital-native audience, the app investigates how UX and UI choices can bridge the gap between screen-based interaction and real-world making.
The app centers around DIY and fashion challenges that prompt users to step away from their devices and engage in hands-on activities such as sewing, upcycling, and crafting. Once completed, users return to the platform to share their projects, receive “blings” (ratings), and interact with others through feedback and inspiration: reinforcing community through active participation rather than passive scrolling.
From a UX perspective, the experience is structured around discovery, creation, and sharing. An editorial-style magazine section allows users to explore trends, curated DIY content, and community posts, while clear flows guide them from inspiration to challenge participation and content creation. The UI blends fashion-editorial aesthetics with social functionality, aiming to feel expressive, accessible, and community-driven.
